I’ve been working from home today while Ellie watches Nora. This is one of the benefits of working from home:

I’m still working, but at least I can take short breaks to see that face.

This is my first experience with a blog, but I think it’s a really cool idea to keep a good connection with friends and family that we’re away from.

My mom’s visiting us right now, which is allowing me to work all day with James, which is something I haven’t been able to do, since day care is SOOOO expensive here. Here’s a pic of Nora waiting for Grandma to come:

From Nora 11-9-08 to 11-23-08

She was so happy to see her (Nora and Mom are interchangeable in that phrase)! We’re excited to have Mom here for Thanksgiving. It’ll make the time fly by until we get to come back to Elkhart for Christmas and New Years! I’m so excited to see everyone, and for everyone to see how big Nora’s gotten. Will write more later…gotta get back to work!

Nora 11-9-08 to 11-23-08

These are my first impressions as the credits are still rolling:

While I thought it started a bit slow, I was sold as soon as the director made his dramatic exit. Filled with Hollywood conventions that they simultaneously use and parody, you could play a drinking game every time somebody recognizes a shot or moment lifted directly from another movie.

While this movie probably doesn’t represent the best of each actor’s work, especially Jack Black, I found most of the cast (even Ben Stiller!) quite funny. The package worked, and I was entertained. That’s all I ask anymore.
