We’re heading to Indiana!

I’m actually twittering the trip and am currently in the car on the way to Elkhart, IN.

I’ve really been thinking lately about how Nora is going to grow up. The more I think about it, the more I think it would be good for us to live closer to Indiana. I spent the majority of my youth surrounded by extended family, and would love for that to be true of Nora, too.

I’m not saying that I want to drop my career in it’s infancy and run back, but I’ll keep my eye out for opportunities a little closer to home.

In the mean time, Mandy, Nora, and I will drive home whenever we can.

I’m really excited about our upcoming visit. My parents are coming, and they’re bringing my niece Karoline. Mandy and I technically have vacation days this week and next Monday, but I’m not sure, yet, if we’re going to be able to take them. Our work schedule has been rough lately, but they have been good enough to bar us from the office on weekends after a particularly long streak.

To prepare for the visit, we picked up a really expensive steam cleaner and went to town on the carpets. Mandy did the lion’s share of the work while I kept Nora out of the way. Thanks, Mandy!

We haven’t seen any of them since the holidays, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them play with Nora, since she wasn’t walking back in December, and she now communicates a lot more than she did.
